The flexible stainless steel pipe comes complete with sensor wire for connecting thermal probe at the collector. Complete with 3/4" EPDM insulating rubber. 2 Lines (supply and return) of 50' include per box 100' total.

Stainless Steel Pipe
This is a nominal 5/8" 304 Steel, this is the sort of steel that is used in Cooking pans, sinks, fridges, tabletops etc. This type of steel is one of the most frequently used types of steel. It is used widely in food processing equipment, in particular in the brewing industry for beer and wine. In short it is used a lot and is good for fluid applications.
Time and Cost Savings
This flexible steel pipe is about 50ft long.
It is a twin hose for your supply (50ft) and return line (50ft).
It has the sensor cable built in, pre insulated and coved with a tough plastic coating for exterior exposure
To run a normal copper line will take the following steps
Buy 2 x 50ft rolls of copper (approx cost $110 each) = $220
Buy 50ft Cable = Approx $25
Buy 100 ft (50ft supply and 50ft Return of EPDM Insulation) = Approx $5.5 Per foot = $550
Total so Far = $795
begin the install..... count the hours to do all this.
Run one roll of copper, don't forget it is stiff and takes a good effort to run it where you want!
Be sure not to kink it!
Run the second roll of copper.
Now bring out the solder, flux and blow torch to secure your fittings
Flush system to remove any Flux acid inside
Test for leaks
Attach the EPDM Insulation (it is in 6ft lengths) to each pipe and secure it with tie wraps.
Stop to bandage up all you knuckles up after you scrape your skin trying to wrap the insulation and tie wrap it under the floor or behind drywall.
Run the wire / temperature sensor and secure it to the insulation.
Remember all this pipe and insulation is likely behind dry wall, under floor boards etc - very time consuming!
Cover the outside of the Insulation with UV resistant coating to stop the sun ruining the insulation or the birds pecking at it!
Buy 50ft of our Flexible Solar Pipe

Important Note: High Temperature Seals
Please note, we thought about getting the type of connection that does not need a tool to make the flat seal end on the steel tube. The "tool less" type of connection use 2 spanners/wrenches that screw the connection together and compress a
onto the Flexible steel tube.
However these types of connectors use a silicone seal o-ring which can get damaged easily. Also the silicone seals might not be rated to as high a temperature as the the High Temp washers we include, +350 Deg C.
If you don't think you need such a high temperature rating, please note the Evacuated tube collectors we sell have a Stagnation temperature of 270 Deg C. If your electricity goes off in August and the solar pump stops working for an hour or two, the system will stagnate and the Glycol/Water Mixture in the collector header can approach 270 C. The gaskets at the collector need to handle this type of temperature.
